ROW’s Latest Play To Explore Themes of Love, Family Amid Northern Nigeria Culture

Rivers of Water (ROW) Productions upcoming play ‘Tauraron Arewa’, explores themes of love, heritage and family dynamics amid the rich cultural setting of northern Nigeria.

Synopsis: When a young man Abdullahi collapses during his turbaning ceremony, marking his transition to manhood, he is rushed to the hospital by his friend Paul, where he is cared for by kind-hearted and beautiful nurse, Amina.

While caring for the patient both fall in love, but Abdullahi’s father is Alhaji has his reservations about her. Meantime, Paul donates a kidney to save his friend’s life.

“The play highlights the significance of family ties, friendship, and love in overcoming challenges. It indicates the power of kindness and compassion, whilst showcasing northern Nigerian culture and traditions, emphasizing the importance of respecting and honouring one’s heritage,” said ROW founder, Patrick Otoro.

Written by Miriam Mbaka, produced and directed by Otoro, ‘Tauraron Arewa’ stars Ali Nuhu, Maryam Booth, Rabiu Rikadawa, Jamila Jamcy, Grace Awe, Michael Oseahon, Gloria Lemmy-Johnson among others.

The play opens June 9, 7pm, at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
