The Annual Guest Lecture held in Lagos on August 30, 2024, was part of efforts to set benchmark for a new level of leadership development.

The Guest Lecturer for this year’s edition was Mrs Funke Amobi, the Deputy Head of Operations at Stanbic IBTC Bank.

She shared her wealth of experience from the human capital development, delivering a richly insightful session that was described by employees present as impact and inspiring.

She argued that the Frontline was designed as a learning hub for empowering and developing the skills of creatives across its units, providing a platform for employees to learn and rub minds with industry leaders in Africa.

The CEO, Chinonso Ogbogu, who is an ardent believer in investing in talents and giving them a chance to power their dreams, stated during this during his welcome address.

He said, “This is just the beginning of a new dawn. Our aim is to redefine the creative space and provide opportunities for individuals to express their creativity without limits.”

The remarkable event was marked by unique spoken word performances, employee engagement and bonding, a panel discussion, and an informative and eye-opening guest lecture.

This is a testament to the power of strategic planning and strong culture, which is what defines the work of Sabi Writers.

Closing off on a high note, the COO, Mr Felix Ukattah, gave a remark by extending his gratitude to the distinguished guest lecturer and the amazing creatives who were adorned in their beautiful branded t-shirts. In his words, ‘It has been an amazing ride building a great culture, the primary factor responsible for our success as an organisation.

As plans for 2025 were underway, The Frontline will be featuring more leading experts in Africa, as they connect and rub minds with the young creatives of Sabi Writers.

The Frontline is a cerebral gathering for employees of Sabi Writers. And not just that, it is also an initiative designed to engineer a movement that transforms lives and strengthens the creative writing space in Africa.
