Residents of Romi under the auspices of Romi Community Development Association (RCDA) have commended Governor Uba Sani for flagging off the construction of the abandoned Karatudu-Romi Road.
Recall that the late Kaduna State governor, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, had awarded the contract for the construction of the roads in the area, but after his death, the project was stalled.

However, the Romi community, through its chairman and Garkuwa Lusawa Romi, Mallam Yakubu Ali, said in a statement yesterday that the ground breaking of Karatudu – Romi road construction, which will cover all the township roads of the area, including Cemetery Road, Lusawa road, School road to Karatudu, and Jemaá road, will boost the area’s economic activities.

Ali, explained further that the governor’s action confirmed his inclusive style of governance which will address the deplorable roads in the area.

“Past administrations promised to construct Karatudu- Romi roads, but did not fulfil their promises to fix roads in Romi and Karatudu. With the flag off of the road construction in Romi and Karatudu by our governor, Senator Uba Sani, this will bring a big relief to the residents after the completion of the project. The economic and social activities of this community will improve. This intervention is huge, and we thank the governor immensely. I therefore call on all residents to cooperate and support the government and the contractor to deliver this historic project.

“We believe that if Governor Uba Sani continues with his rural and urban renewal projects in no distant time, our rural and urban areas will be transformed like never before in our history. The governor is on the right track to reset our communities on the path of development,” RCDA chairman said.
