The Santuraki of Ebiraland, Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration on the promotion of Abdul Idris King to director of pollution control in the Federal Ministry of Environment, describing him as an honest, committed, and results-oriented public servant.

The American-based former senior special assistant to Speaker Aminu Tambuwal on Diaspora Affairs, who described the new director as a cousin with whom he is well pleased, said he had known him since their school days as a team player, one who pays attention to details and is hardworking.

Alhaji Ugonoh pointed out that the newly promoted director will deploy his wealth of experience to tackle the rising incidences of pollution, especially in the communities where the situation has become worrisome.

Harping on the need for a cleaner society and environment, Alhaji Ugonoh advised the director to pay attention to the rising cases of air pollution in the  Niger Delta region, especially gas flaring.

He urged the director to pay equal attention to other environmental pollution, such as open defecation, which has become a menace in society.

Further describing him as a round peg in a round hole, he maintained that the Ministry of Environment would experience a turnaround, especially in the area of pollution controls, with the recent structure.
