Dignitaries, including governors Babajide Sanwoolu and Dapo Abiodun of Lagos and Ogun states, on Sunday accompanied their counterpart in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, to Cherubim and Seraphim, headquarters, Lagos, for the thanksgiving programme in memory of his late mother, Mother-in-Israel Esther Adeleke.
Others were his deputy, Kola Adewusi; Osun House of Assembly Speaker Adewale Egbedun and his deputy, Ireyode Oyewusi; the governor’s CoS, Kazeem Akinleye; Osun HoS Ayanleye Aina; and media entrepreneur Dele Momodu.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, stated that members of the Adeleke family, including business mogul Dr Deji Adeleke, Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke, the wives of Governor Titilayo and Ngozi Adeleke, and global music icon David Adeleke (Davido), were also in attendance at the service.
According to the statement, the governor’s mother, the late Esther Adeleke, was a Senior Mother-in-Israel of the church, the same title presently held by the Governor’s sister, Yeyeluwa Modupe Adeleke-Sanni.
In his short remarks, Governor Adeleke affirmed his undiluted faith in God and his determination to use all available platforms to praise and worship the creator of heaven and earth.
Recall that Adeleke, who had always affirmed his faith in God through praise worship in churches and mosques, was also conferred with a senior church title long before his assumption of governorship in recognition of his deep service to God and humanity.
Amidst songs of praise and dance by guests and congregation, the governor recounted God’s many divine favours on the Adeleke family, his life, and his successes so far as governor, announcing his ever-faithfulness to the creator of heaven and earth.
