A world record bid from the Saudi Arabian league is threatening to ruin Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane.
Kane’s frustration over Spurs’ failure to win silverware has reportedly boiled over this summer, with reports claiming the forward has told the North London club he wants out during the current transfer window.
Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Kane, but Bayern Munich emerged as the frontrunner for his signature over the past couple of months, with reports claiming the Bundesliga giants are open to breaking their transfer record to land the player.
It has also been reported that the player himself is open to writing off a large chunk of his Tottenham salary to force through a move.
That has allowed another club to enter the running for Kane, and unsurprisingly that club has come from the mega-money Saudi Arabian Pro League.
Newbettingsites.com.au has taken a look at the odds, which still make it odds-on that Kane remains at Tottenham at 1.44. It is 2.75 that he heads to Munich and 13.00 that he will move to Saudi Arabia.
Cristiano Ronaldo began an influx of star names into Saudi Arabian football, with the likes of Karim Benzema, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane following him to the Middle East. But could Kane add his name to that list?
Tottenham will command a massive fee for the player despite him being out of contract next summer, and Al Hilal are reportedly willing to put together a world record package in order to tempt both the club and the player.
The question is, can Kane be persuaded to give up on a move to a Bayern Munich side who have won 10 consecutive Bundesliga titles and gives him a great chance at finally lifting a major club trophy?
