All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Adamawa State have called on President Bola Tinubu, the APC national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other party leaders  to take steps to revive the party in the state.

The stakeholders, who made the appeal at the weekend in Yola, expressed fears that APC, which has been losing its prominence in the state since 2019, showed little sign of being better in 2027.

The group of Concerned Stakeholders, led by a former state deputy chairman, Alhaji Seidu Mohammed Naira, stressed that the APC which lost the governorship election in the past two election seasons due to intra-party wrangling, appears  to be worse in terms of internal harmony ahead of 2027.

At the meeting addressed by Saidu Naira and other leaders, the stakeholders noted that the APC which once produced the three senators from the state as well as nearly all the House of Representatives members and a comfortable majority of House of Assembly lawmakers now has no senator, only three of eight Reps members and eight House of Assembly members.

The APC chieftain said, “Things are worsening steadily. We often say we are winning the governorship election in 2027; but how? Since the 2023 election, no genuine move has been made to reconcile aggrieved persons. People are feeling abandoned and some are already leaving the party.

He said the party at the state level has been hijacked by some powerful individuals and require the big people in Abuja to intervene.

He specifically appealed to the APC national chairman, Umar Ganduje to take necessary steps.

“We suggest that the national chairman should form a committee to come to Adamawa, to listen to members and take all the steps necessary to revive the party and make it one big united and winning party once again,” Saidu Mohammed said.
