Save Nasarawa APC, Group Begs Governor Sule

A group under the aegis of APC Stakeholders for Fairness and Justice has appealed to Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, to rescue the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) “imminent implosion and total collapse.”

The group in a statement signed by its chairman, Mohammed Bala, and secretary, Shehu Usman, made available to journalists in Lafia, on Wednesday accused the state chairman of the party, Dr. Aliyu of trading the party’s value and principles because of his relationship with Senator Ahmed Wadada, a serving senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

The group drew attention to an interview granted by the chairman to a local newspaper where he reported said, “Nothing can come between him and his bosom friend, Senator Ahmed Wadada” to buttress its point.

It noted that such public admission highlighted a bias that could affect the party’s unity and integrity, particularly as the ward and state congresses draw closer.

They warned that Dr. Bello’s perceived favoritism could derail the party’s efforts, stating: “If Aliyu Bello is allowed to lead our party going forward, he will use the party to deliver his friend and isolate others, which is detrimental to the APC. The party may be tailored to realize the ambition of one individual, leaving others sidelined.”

The group further expressed fears that if Senator Wadada eventually contests under another political party, Dr. Bello’s divided loyalty could compromise the APC’s chances in future elections.

They also cautioned that the disenfranchisement of other loyal party members could lead to internal protests, ultimately weakening the party’s structure.

It expressed optimism that Governor Sule’s intervention would restore confidence among party members and strengthen the APC’s position in Nasarawa State.

However, APC spokesman, Chief Douglas Otaru, said the party cannot dignify what he described as a “faceless” group with a response.
