Nigerian actress Gbemisola Scarlet Shotade, professionally known as ‘Scarlet Gomez’, has joined the conversation on privacy in the digital age, urging people not to share every personal moment online.

In a post on Instagram, the actress said some experiences lose their value once they are exposed to public judgment and endless commentary.

She noted that people who do not know the full story often make assumptions. As a result, meaningful memories can become topics of gossip and criticism.

Gomez added that not everything belongs on social media. According to her, some moments are best kept private to preserve their true meaning.

“Some moments lose their meaning once they are shared online. People who don’t know your story start building assumptions and turning it into something it is not. Suddenly, your special moment turns into disrespectful banter and gossip. Not everything needs an audience. Some things are better kept private.”
