The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has said it has no alliance with the Gombe State Coalition Group.
The national publicity secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, in a statement yesterday in Abuja, said the National Working Committee of the party emphasised that no organ, officer or representative of the party had been authorised to negotiate or engage with any group on its behalf.

He warned against unauthorised use of the party’s name, logo or identity in any material or document related to public gatherings or events of any coalition without official approval from the NWC.

“Any member or officer at the unit, ward, state, zonal or national level found to be associated with the so-called coalition or any other political party openly or in the name of the SDP will face severe sanctions, including suspension or expulsion in accordance with the party’s constitution. We urge all members and stakeholders to disregard any unauthorised claims or representations,” the statement said.

Aiyenigba further said the party’s stance on the issue had been made clear to prevent any misrepresentation and to ensure that the party’s integrity is maintained.
