Imo State chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon. Henry Eluwa, has said the party would not form any alliance with other political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He, however, indicated that it would maintain credible and sustainable frontiers.
The party chairman said SDP would try its best to maintain and protect its identity and would never allow any form of merger that would erase its vision and mission.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri yesterday, Eluwa explained that the state chapter of the party was in total agreement with the decision taken at the national level under the leadership of Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, who according to him, had clearly highlighted that the party must maintain its identity and integrity.
According to him, the national chairman will not accept any form of merger that would increase the crisis they are trying to address, adding that the party would only support and promote credible and sustainable leadership.
