The commissioner of police in Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has led a combined team of security chiefs to Mansur town in Alkaleri local government area of the state as part of sustained efforts to build public confidence and address security concerns in the area.

The visit, aimed at reassuring residents of the commitment of security agencies to safeguarding lives and property, also provided an opportunity for the security heads to inspect and assess the level of work on the Forward Operation Base (FOB) currently under construction by the Bauchi state government.

Members of the delegation included the Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), representatives of the Brigade Commander, the Director of State Services (DSS), and the Commander of the Nigerian Forest Security Services, Bauchi State Command.

A stakeholders’ meeting held at the Mansur Market Square yesterday attracted residents and community leaders from surrounding areas. Participants expressed satisfaction with the presence of security agencies, describing it as reassuring and a sign of renewed confidence, while also outlining prevailing security challenges affecting their communities.

Addressing the gathering, CP Aliyu dismissed rumours suggesting that a truce or amnesty had been granted to bandits, describing such claims as false and misleading.

He stressed that neither the Bauchi State government nor any security agency has entered into negotiations with criminal elements, assuring residents that their safety remains a top priority in line with the constitutional mandate of security agencies to maintain law and order.

The commissioner further advised community members to go about their lawful activities without fear, while remaining vigilant and promptly reporting any suspicious persons or activities to security authorities.
