According to a statement from the Command’s spokesman, Sadiq Abubakar, the incident took place at Unguwar Batsaka quarters in Jibia town, Jibia local government area of the state.

Spokesman of the Command, Sadiq Abubakar, said a distress call was received at the Jibia Divisional Police headquarters at approximately 11:25 p.m. on Saturday that a gang of bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, launched an assault on the neighbourhood, firing sporadically with the intent to abduct residents.

Abubakar further that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Jibia mobilised a team of operatives, who were joined by the military, members of the KSCWC and local vigilantes to engage the attackers in a fierce gun battle that lasted about an hour.

He added that the bandits were forced to flee after sustaining various degrees of bullet injuries.
