Joint security operatives comprising the Nigeria Army, Civil Defence, DSS and vigilantes attached to Suru and Maiyama local government areas of Kebbi State have rescued two females kidnapped by suspected bandits in the area.

Confirming the success story to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, the director in charge of security service, Cabinet Office, AbdulRahman Zagga attributed the success recorded to the support of Gov Nasir Idris in providing all the necessary tools to the security agencies in the state.

“The said operation was successful. We were able to follow the bandits from Giro forest to Boma and down to Zugu Liba forest where the victims were rescued,” he said.

The director further pointed out that the kidnappers could no longer withstand the security operation pressure, thereby, abandoned the kidnapped victims and ran away.

He explained that the rescued victims have been handed over to the village head and the vigilante chairman of Zugu Liba to be reunited with their families.

He called on people to support the security operatives with useful information that would assist in effectively curtailing the challenges of insecurity in the state.
