Security Remains Our Topmost Priority, Buni Declares

Yobe State governor Hon Mai Mala Buni said his administration has since inception considered the protection of lives and property of the people as a topmost priority.

Buni stated this when the commander Sector II Operation Hadi Kai Damaturu, Major General Lander David Saraso called on him at the Government House, Damaturu.

The governor said as a state with highest number of Boko Haram destruction after Borno, the government of Yobe believes that the only way to restore the livelihood of the people is by working hand in hand with the military and other security agencies for better results.

He commended president Tinubu for prioritizing the restoration of peace across the country assuring that his administration will continue to do the needful by giving all the necessary support to the security agents for consolidation on the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.

“May I at this juncture commend the commander in chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for charging the security agencies to come together and collaborate towards ensuring that no part of this country is left to suffer, that’s a good step that deserve commendation and we at the sub national level are ready to support.

“To us in Yobe, security is the first-line charge and we remain so until peace is totally restored,” Buni assured.

The governor also commended the officers and men of the Nigerian army among other security agencies for the efforts and sacrifices, which led to the gradual return of peace across the state.

The commander Sector II Operation Hadi Kai Damaturu, Major General Lander David Saraso while speaking said the command as part of its commitments towards the full restoration of peace decided to reopen the hitherto closed Bukarti camp at the border village between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

He said the army has equally as part of its civil military relationship campaign succeeded in organising a Qur’anic recitation competition among various communities in Borno and Yobe states to counter the terrorists wrong indoctrination of the populace on the religion of Islam.
