The newly appointed executive director (Agriculture, Rural Development and Natural Resources) of South-East Development Commission (SEDC) Dr. Clifford Ogbede has said the commission will foster total rehabilitation, reintegration and reconstruction of the entire South East region.
Ogbede made the disclosure when he played host to Ngor Okpala born Journalists in Imo State, where he hails from in Umuekwune Obiangwu.
He said the southeast zone was in dire need of roads, infrastructure, adding that with the unity of Ndigbo, development will soon be seen all over the zone.
He noted that the agitations in the southeast may have sprang up from perceived exclusion in developmental projects adding that soon it will be a thing of the past, judging from the priority Tinubu accords to Ndigbo.
He thanked President Tinubu for signing the bill into law and the immediate composition of the board saying it showed the priority the presidency accorded Ndigbo and the zeal to ensure development.
He stated that the President Tinubu led administration had shown love and concern for the region, via the creation of the South East Development Commission and expressed readiness to partner to improve the zone for greater heights.
He promised to work with President Tinubu and the SEDC board members with commitment, openness and sincerity in the discharge of his duties, even as he appealed for support from the people.
