As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Senator Neda Imasuen has called for a peaceful celebration among the faithful.
In a message of felicitation, Senator Imasuen called on all citizens to use the holy period as an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and acts of kindness, underscoring the values of faith, sacrifice, and unity that define the celebration.
“Eid al-Adha is a time to renew our faith in Allah, to make sacrifices for the greater good, and to embrace obedience, love, and service to humanity,” Senator Imasuen stated.
“Let us use this moment to reflect on our personal roles in promoting peace, supporting one another, and contributing to the progress of our communities.”
Highlighting the broader significance of the season, the senator noted that while government plays a leading role in development and security, citizens must actively support and complement these efforts.
“Peace and development are not the government’s job alone. We all have a role to play,” Senator Imasuen said. “I call on our people to protect government projects, support local development initiatives, and work hand-in-hand with government to build a better, more secure, and prosperous Edo State.”
He further appealed to citizens to extend compassion to the less privileged during the Sallah celebrations, emphasising that, “Eid is a season of sacrifice and generosity. Even the smallest act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life,” he added.
Senator Imasuen also called on the Muslim faithful to dedicate prayers for continued peace, unity, and stability in Edo State and Nigeria at large.
