The projects were commissioned in the Fadan Ninzo and Fadan Kamantan communities last Friday.
According to Senator Katung, the projects aimed at enhancing education and improving the quality of healthcare delivery for his constituents at the grassroots.

The commissioned projects include a Renovated and equipped rural hospital in Fadan Nonzo and the Construction and equipment of a science laboratory centre in the Government Secondary School, Fadan Kamamtan, in the Sanga and Zangon Kataf local government areas.

The primary healthcare centre, built in 1983, is in a sorry state due to its dilapidation.
Handing over the facility to the Kaduna State Government, Senator Katung said he embarked on the project after receiving reports of the high prevalent rate of child and maternal mortality as a result of lack of proper access to healthcare in the area.

The lawmaker added that the renovated and equipped healthcare facility affirms his dedication to enhancing healthcare coverage for the people at the grassroots.

He said, “The newly constructed and equipped science laboratory marks a significant milestone in our efforts to provide quality education that prepares our students for success in an increasingly complex, competitive, and technological world. We have reaffirmed our commitment to providing an environment conducive to academic excellence, innovation, and creativity.

“The buildings are more than just a physical structure; they represent hope and a brighter future for our community,” he said.

The primary healthcare facility’s rehabilitation and the construction of the science laboratory mark significant milestones in Senator Katung’s ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and education, especially for women and children in rural communities.

Inaugurating the facility, Daniel Amos, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on House Services, commended the Senator for responding to the community’s most critical need.

He urged the public to continue to offer constructive criticism and pray for their leaders to succeed instead of giving a dog a bad name to hang.

Earlier, the paramount ruler of Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom, Alh. Umar Musa thanked Senator Katung for giving the healthcare centre a new look. He appealed to the local government to construct an access road to the facility to reduce the difficulty in accessing health care due to the destructive nature of the road.

Taking over the facility on behalf of the Kaduna State Government, the Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Mohammed Jamo, noted that the facility’s renovation would further spur the government to provide more staffing and equipment to meet the communities’ healthcare needs.
