Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, who represents the Kaduna South Senatorial District, has donated medical supplies valued in the millions of naira to Primary Health Centres in Jaba local government area of Kaduna State.
The items which include medications and medical equipment are to be distributed in selected primary health centres within the local government.
Senator Katung reaffirmed his commitment to improve healthcare access for residents and ensure that they benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Represented by a former health commissioner, Dr Thot Joseph, he emphasised dedication to positively impacting the lives of those at the grassroots level.
Highlighting his focus on alleviating the challenges faced by the community, Katung expressed determination to enhance the well-being of his constituents, and urged the primary health centres to utilise the drugs wisely for the greater good.
Receiving the supplies on behalf of the PHCs, the deputy director of health in Jaba local government, Nurse Rehab Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to Senator Katung, and assured that the donated items would be used responsibly.
Ibrahim commended the senator for his vision and substantial investment in the health sector, and she called upon other wealthy individuals in the state to follow his commendable example in supporting healthcare improvements in Kaduna State.
The distribution of the medical supplies was coordinated by the National Productivity Center and the Building Capacities Development Hub (BCDH), with facilitation by Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.
