The Senator representing Enugu West senatorial district, Senator Osita Ngwu, has lauded the state governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his remarkable efforts in transforming Enugu through series of infrastructural projects.

Governor Mbah, on Monday, inaugurated four newly constructed and reconstructed roads in Abakpa Nike, in Enugu metropolis, among them the Mike Ejeagha Crescent where the music legend lives and the adjoining popular Obinagu Road, which he renamed after him. Other roads inaugurated were Texaco Bus Stop-Ifo Road, and Nkpor Street.

During a recent visit to Abakpa Nike, where four newly constructed and reconstructed roads were commissioned, Senator Ngwu, who’s the Senate minority whip, expressed his admiration for the governor’s dedication to improving the lives of the people.

The lawmaker applauded the governor for his strategic approach to infrastructural development, noting that the recent effort was just a fraction of what’s to come.

He highlighted the state government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage by renaming Obinagu Road, reconstructed earlier in the year, to Mike Ejeagha Road in honour of the music icon’s contributions to Enugu’s cultural legacy.

Senator Ngwu emphasised the importance of infrastructure in driving development and fostering a sense of pride among citizens.

He praised Governor Mbah for not only recognising the state’s rich history but also for actively working to honour those who shaped Enugu’s identity.

“Enugu is a state rich in history, talent, and culture. It is our duty to honour and celebrate those who have shaped our identity,” he said.

Senator Ngwu, therefore, assured Enugu residents that the governor has contracted 141 roads and 20 rural roads had already been awarded, with Abakpa included in the upcoming projects.
