Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, Osita Ngwu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his colleague, Barinada Mpigi, describing him as a dedicated lawmaker and patriotic Nigerian.
In a condolence message issued on Friday, Senator Ngwu praised the late Mpigi for his unwavering commitment to public service and democratic governance in Nigeria.
According to him, “Senator Mpigi was a committed lawmaker, a patriotic Nigerian, and a man of honour who devoted his time and energy to the service of his constituents and the growth of democratic governance in Nigeria.”
Ngwu noted that Mpigi’s legislative engagements and constituency projects reflected his passion for people-oriented leadership and national development.
“Sen. Mpigi was a bridge-builder and a voice of reason whose counsel and experience enriched our work in the Senate. His passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill,” he stated.
The Enugu-born Senator extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the people of Rivers South-East Senatorial District, the Rivers State Government, and colleagues in the National Assembly, praying for strength and comfort for all those affected by the loss.
Barinada Mpigi, who represented Rivers South-East in the 10th Senate, was widely respected for his advocacy on community development and good governance.
