Senator Abdulrahman Suleman Kawu, representing Kano South, has called on Governor Abba Yusuff to treat all Kano citizens equitably, regardless of their political ties.
In a press session at the weekend, Kawu emphasised the importance of acknowledging the diverse population of nearly 20 million residents, urging the governor not to favour members of the Kwankwasiyya movement over others.
While recognizing the influence of former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, Kawu warned against betraying the broader electorate that supported Yusuff’s election.
He stressed the responsibility of the governor to protect the rights of all citizens, including those from opposing parties, and highlighted the need for genuine reconciliation within the political landscape. Kawu said any form of oppression could lead to failure in Yusuf’s governance duties.
