Some senators have backed the initiative to distribute 10 billion copies of ‘Rhapsody of Realities’ to stimulate attitudinal change for growth and national development.

Rhapsody of Realities is a monthly devotional publication by Pastor Chris Oyakilome of the Christ Embassy Church that aims to drive positive change.

The senators made the commitment at the inauguration of the initiative, tagged “Reachout World Day with Rhapsody of Realities,” at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

In his remarks, Sen Omueya Ede Dafinone (APC, Delta) noted that Rhapsody of Realities is a life guide that gives readers a daily perspective on God’s word.

He said the publication intends to allow all who read it worldwide to review their daily lives and live better lives.

“It is not meant to be restricted to Christians; it is intended for everybody, hence its publication in 8,000 languages and for various age grades.

“In the present global situation we are in, everybody needs to wake up in the morning energised, and I believe this book will help energise people worldwide,” he said.

Sen. Thomas Joel-Onowakpo (PDP-Delta) said he knew of Christ Embassy Church’s transformative work. He added that the initiative’s target required a lot of money to meet and urged the implementers not to panic; hence, “the money for the work of God will come.”

Joel-Onowakpo said the publication, like the Bible, is a guide that should be read as it will take one all the way.

“I want to urge everyone, especially the young people who will have access to the rhapsody of realities, to read it. I encourage you to read Ask King, as it has God’s plan for humankind; the first thing you must understand in this troubled world is to believe in God.

“Do not be in a hurry to do anything; believe that God who has created you has a purpose for you and works according to His plan.

Once you can do that, some of our anxieties about this current dispensation will be gone.

“All these ideas of getting rich quickly will be a thing of the past. Focus on God; it is only through God that you can have true success that adds no sorrow,” he said.

In her remarks, Corps Commander Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Ms C. O Esung said the publication should be read with faith and prayed to God to grant faith to all who read it and practise what they have read.

Esung expressed the willingness of the FRSC to partner with the Christ Embassy in the distribution of the publication.

She said the commission has several channels, such as the National Youth Service Corps members, the Special Corps Marshal, and the first responders, that can be used to distribute the publications effectively.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Director of the Christ Embassy Ministry Centre in Abuja, Pastor Obi Chiemeka, said the publication has been translated into 8,132 languages worldwide and also in braille for the blind. He stated that different editions are to be distributed monthly.

According to him, there are also translations in different dialects, which, when added, will make the total number of translations 12,000.

He said the publication also covers various demographics, with sections for kids and early readers, teenagers, and adults.

“The reason for this is its transformative message; it brings hope to those who have no hope, opens the eyes for people to see, and gives a vision for life, and we are very passionate about it.

“We are interested in the FCT Reach Out World Day initiative because we believe it is a tool that can build nations.

“It is a tool that when young people read it, they will have a more excellent vision of their own lives, and because it is God’s words, it brings blessings.

“That is what it is all about, and that is why we are having this national launch day; we want people to know that on December 2, we are distributing 10 billion copies worldwide,” he said.

The Executive Director of CYPA-Africa, Dr Chris Iyam, said he was a product of Rhapsody of Realities, admitting that his life has changed since he was introduced to the publication in 2008.

He said that if lawmakers begin their day by reading Rhapsody of Realities, they would avoid mistakes in passing the country’s laws.

“Rhapsody of Realities will make you think positively; it will make you believe in the country’s future.

“One day, we will see in this country a National Assembly where before they start anything, they will read the Rhapsody of Realities; it only turns out that the spirit of God will guide that lead.

“I believe in the members of the house and our senators because I know you have the powers to change things, and the Spirit of God will guide you perfectly in doing those things,” he said.
