Immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi (BOA), has reiterated his readiness to serve the people of the state, having garnered immense experience under his boss, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo about his experience as deputy governor, Alabi said he was swamped in that role, as he acted in his boss’s capacity as a substantive governor whenever Oyetola travelled.
According to him, working under a technocrat as his boss, coupled with the cordial relationship between them, allowed him to learn the art of governance, which prepared him for this crucial time in the history of Osun.
Alabi, a leading aspirant to clinch the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun, stressed that if given the ticket, electorates will be happy they chose someone with vast experience over other candidates.
His words: “I had a cordial relationship with Governor Oyetola as his deputy. He is a technocrat. I am also a technocrat in my own way. We have similar backgrounds. I also know that he intended to grow Osun State.
“As deputy governor, you are an alternate to the governor, but you have your statutory duties. Once you are allowed to perform your statutory duties, what else do you want’’, Alabi asked.
He promised to lead from the front to ensure peace, prosperity and a flourishing future for all, adding that the Osun people deserve to enjoy the dividends of democracy again.
