AVOID USING ALUMINUM FOIL WITH ACIDIC FOODS
It’s important to avoid using aluminum foil with acidic foods like tomato-or vinegar-based dishes. Acidic ingredients can corrode the foil, causing aluminum to leach into the food.

DON’T WRAP FOOD FOR EXTENDED STORAGE
It’s best to avoid wrapping food in aluminum foil for extended storage, particularly for acidic or salted foods. Prolonged contact with moisture, acids, or salts can cause the foil to degrade.

NEVER USE ALUMINUM FOIL IN MICROWAVE OVENS
Using aluminum foil in the microwave is dangerous and should always be avoided. Since foil is metal, microwaves bounce off it, causing sparks or even small fires. This can damage the microwave’s interior.

AVOID DIRECT CONTACT WITH FLAMES
While you may love to use aluminum foil on the grill, foil is actually not designed to endure prolonged, direct heat from open flames. Prolonged exposure to direct flames (such as on a grill) can cause the foil to weaken or melt. This may release toxic fumes or particles.

AVOID USING IT FOR BAKING
While foil might seem like an easy way to line your pan, it can cause more harm than good. Opt for silicone mats or parchment paper.

DON’T USE IT TO LINE THE BOTTOM OF YOUR OVEN
Lining the bottom of your oven with foil might seem like a time-saving trick to catch drips, but it can create bigger problems. Foil reflects heat, which can disrupt the oven’s temperature regulation and cause overheating.

AVOID USING ALUMINUM FOIL EXCESSIVELY
Instead of relying on foil for single-use applications, consider switching to more sustainable alternatives like parchment paper or silicone mats for lining baking sheets.
