Sevilla head coach Matias Almeyda has expressed his confidence in Adams Akor to break his goal drought.
Akor has not scored in his last eight appearances for the Rojiblancos.
The 25-year-old has also faced criticism for frequently being caught offside.
The Nigeria international has been subjected to significant criticism from the club’s supporters.
However, Almeyda is optimistic that the striker will soon find his scoring touch.
“He is a footballer who works hard and needs confidence. I prefer that he is trying to rectify his mistakes rather than remaining stagnant,” the Argentine was quoted as saying by Orgullobiri.
Akor has recorded two goals and one assist in 12 league appearances for Sevilla this season and is expected to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
