Anon-governmental organisation, Search For Common Ground (SFCG), has educated the people of Kebbi State on the dangers of accommodating unfamiliar persons.
To bring the message home, the group held a three-day public drama in Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, and Dandi local government areas of Kebbi State against the practice.
SFCG is known for enlightening communities in the border areas in the North West zone of certain vices and dangerours practices in the society.
The drama was held in collaboration with the state’s Ministry of Information and Culture.
The focal persons organising the dramas, Bala Muhammed Bashar and Abubakar Attahiru, who represented the communication officer of SFCG, Mr Alfred Maigai, before and after the drama, which was performed by the cultural troupes of the Ministry of Information and Culture, Birnin Kebbi, at the marketplaces of Makera village in Birnin Kebbi local government area, informed the audience that the drama contained many lessons concerning accommodating unfamiliar persons in the society due to the current situation of insecurity in the northwest region.
They told the audience that they should be careful when hosting unidentified faces at home, in a hotel, or at any other facility in the village, town, or capital city of the state; otherwise, they could end up accommodating criminals.
The facilitators also warned people against hosting any person without knowing his or her background in society at this time of insecurity.
Like Argungu and Kamba towns, they enlightened the audience at the marketplaces on how residents should be careful with the people they intermingle with at home, places of worship, hotels, motor parks, and other areas.
At the end of the dramas, the audience understood the SFCG’s message through facilitators and the drama performers.
