Afrocentric soul singer Shady Blue has released her new EP, ‘Pain Away,’ which delves into themes of pain, love, and the complexities of life.
Now available on major streaming platforms, the five-track EP captures Shady Blue’s profound life experiences.
Notable tracks include ‘One Life,’ an uplifting anthem encouraging listeners to embrace every moment, and ‘Always On My Mind,’ a poignant ballad reflecting on enduring love memories. The titular track, ‘Pain Away,’ is a soulful plea for comfort and healing, complemented by rhythmic Afrocentric beats.
The EP also features ‘Sooner’—formerly titled ‘Get Down’—which invites listeners to celebrate joy and dance freely, along with ‘Ife Gbono,’ a fusion piece that honors the warmth and intensity of love.
Shady Blue describes ‘Pain Away’ as a deeply personal project, emphasising how time shapes our lives and relationships.
“Each song is a journey through the emotions that define our existence, from the joy of love to the pain of loss, all framed by the relentless passage of time. I aimed to create music that resonates deeply, transcending cultural barriers,” she shared.
Reflecting her appreciation for her African heritage, the EP features lyrics in a blend of Yoruba, Pidgin, and English.
