Vice president Kashim Shetima, former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and 11 state governors were in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital yesterday to grace the wedding of Kezia, the daughter of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State and Bitrus Nyati.
The wedding which took place at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo had governors of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) including thousands of other dignitaries in attendance.
Vice President Shetima in his speech at the occasion urged Nigerians to emulate Governor Kefas on his act of inclusivity.
He praised Kefas for bringing in politicians from across board, stating that not all politicians in Nigeria would have the mind to go beyond political lines to bring people from different political affiliations.
“In Governor Kefas, we have seen a leader who has shown capacity for inclusivity, here we are in the same hall with both the APC and PDP governors, I have seen several other faces from other political parties, that is a spirit of a true Nigerian.
“Governor Kefas after the recent governorship election contested keenly with Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC…put aside every feeling to bring us here, thank you Governor Kefas,” he said/ Former president Jonathan also thanked the governor for bringing Nigerians together irrespective of political lines.
