Vice President Kashim Shettima and former President Olusegun Obasanjo are among the eminent Nigerians who will attend the Osun Industrial Summit.
The state’s commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Revd. Bunmi Jenyo, disclosed this at a press conference in Osogbo and said the summit, held in conjunction with the principal consultant, Ravicom Integrated Concept Nigeria, will also include South West governors Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Abike Dabiri Erewa, Aare Dele Momodu, and a host of others.
According to him, the keynote address at the summit with the theme: “Connecting Progress with Purpose” will be delivered by the Consul General of the Italian Embassy at the event held at Osun State University, Osogbo.
Revd Jenyo revealed that the summit was organized to position Osun State as a major Industrial and Commercial Hub in Nigeria and the West African subregion.
His words: “This year’s summit vision is to enhance productivity, create employment and wealth, increase social facilities and generate more revenue for the state and Nigeria in general, that will expand channels for leveraging the qualitative Industrial, Agricultural, Mining, Tourism and ICT potentials of the State for inclusive and sustainable GDP for the state and the nation”.
The commissioner also highlighted setting an agenda for accelerated industrial investment and transformation of the Osun economy, with a particular emphasis on the role of agriculture and industrial advancement and focusing on driving double-digit industrial investment and economic growth in the State’s senatorial districts as part of the summit’s objectives.
He noted that the summit will showcase bankable opportunities and a strategic matchmaking platform convening stakeholders to the Osun State Industrial ecosystem to facilitate partnerships and investments.
