Shettima Will Deliver North East Votes To Tinubu – Duhu

Pioneer national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North East, Dr Umar Duhu, has said the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, will deliver the entire votes of the region to their party.

Duhu said Shettima had become a household name in the North East and Nigeria as a whole.

In an interview with LEADERSHIP, Duhu said people know Shettima for his eloquence, unpretentiousness and leadership qualities.

“But, the wailers who see no good in any goal getter, themselves, might view Shettima differently and based on scuttlebutt.

“His Excellency Senator Kashim Mustapha Shettima (KSM) a former lecturer, accomplished banker and a proficient political actor has touched the lives of many Nigerians in several exceptional ways.

“I stand bold to posit and as a political affiliate of Borno modern political dynasty ushered by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Shettima has distinguished himself as a trusted leader capable of entrusting a baton and freeing the same strategically. Anytime one is opportune to meet Shettima, solutions abound,” Duhu said.

“Let me also put on record that, when His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima Mustapha was unveiled as the running mate of His Excellency Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the defunct constituent of KSM (ANPP block) under the auspices of Great Nigeria Group (GNG) paid solidarity visit to KSM to congratulate him and to also assure him of our resolve to ensure the victory for the APC and Asiwaju/Kashim Ticket in our different constituencies.

“Since then, we have been steadfast in achieving results and agreed to only come back to congratulate them ‘God willing’ as president and vice president-elect. This is what we stand for and have sworn to do.

“The North East which hitherto was bedeviled with the insurgency will definitely vote overwhelmingly for the APC, the party that liberated them from the ramshackle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) misrule.

“By our calculations, APC shall overwhelm the PDP in the North East and the entire Northern Nigeria with a percentage of 65 percent for APC and 35 percent for the PDP and others,” Duhu said.

He tackled the Labour Party presidential candidate running mate Yusuf Datti-Baba Ahmed for questioning the source of Shettima’s wealth.

He said, “Let me at this juncture rebuke the Labour Party vice presidential candidate Datti Ahmed for questioning the sources of the wealth of Shettima. As a Muslim, he must know that both power and wealth are from God. Anyone questioning these is questioning the Almighty over his dominion.

“It is also derisory for Datti-Ahmed to posit during Politics Today on AIT that Peter Obi was the only former governor who left about N73 billion in the coffers of Anambra State when leaving office.

“I put it to him that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff left over N75 billion in the coffers of the Borno State government when he left office in 2011 despite the insurgency in the state, then,” Duhu said.
