Defending champion Jannik Sinner produced a flawless performance Friday, dispatching Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to his second consecutive Wimbledon final, where he will face Alexander Zverev.
The world number one denied the 39-year-old Djokovic any break-point opportunities until the third set, promptly extinguishing the sole chance with an ace. Sinner fired 40 winners against just 15 unforced errors, sealing the victory with a love service game.
Djokovic, bidding for a record 25th Grand Slam singles title, was outclassed throughout, managing only one break point across the two-hour match. The 24-time major winner waved to all sides of Centre Court as he exited, his quest to surpass Margaret Court’s all-time record still unfulfilled.
Sinner, now 4-0 in career sets against Djokovic at Wimbledon, will face Zverev in Sunday’s final after the French Open champion ended British wildcard Arthur Fery’s run. The Italian has won 10 of 14 previous meetings with Zverev and hasn’t lost to him since 2023.
“It’s the most special tournament we have,” Sinner said. “Playing against Novak, he is a huge inspiration—what he is still doing is amazing.”
