American music producer Rickey “Slikk Muzik” Offord has named his newborn daughter after Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.
Offord shared photos of the baby on Instagram, revealing that she was born on September 21 and named Ayra Starr Offord.
Alongside one of the pictures, the producer wrote, “Ayra Starr Offord. 09.21.26. Daddy loves you 4L.”
The announcement caught attention because of the name’s connection to the Nigerian Afrobeats star, although Offord did not publicly explain his choice.
Ayra Starr acknowledged the gesture by sharing his post on her Instagram Story, writing, “Love you, twin.”
Offord, who is also known as Slikk Muzik, is a Dallas-born producer and composer whose work spans R&B, hip-hop and gospel music.
He has worked with artists including Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Toni Braxton and Tamar Braxton.
The producer’s announcement has now created an unexpected personal connection between him and Ayra Starr, with his daughter carrying the Nigerian singer’s name.
