Award-winning poet and academic, Saddiq Dzukogi praises the collection, noting that it “resonates with raw honesty and lyrical grace, inviting readers to contemplate the complexities of existence and the unwavering pursuit of home in a world in constant flux.”

Salawu Olajide, editor of OlongoAfrica, describes the collection as “a sincere lamentation of a pilgrim tossed in a serious dilemma of dislocation but stays hydrated with memories. Alabi’s unconvoluted language has roots in the tradition of African griots.”

Sodiq Alabi’s work has been featured in journals such as the Kalahari Review, Konya Shamsruni, Praxis, and SEVHAGE. His debut poetry collection, The Texture of Air (2015), received critical acclaim. Born and raised in Iwo, Osun State, Alabi holds degrees from the University of Ilorin, Ahmadu Bello University, and the University of Sussex. He works as a communications and engagement specialist and regularly writes insightful columns for Nigerian media.

Deaf Birds and Frozen Frames is available in bookshops in Nigeria and is scheduled to be released globally on October 22.
