The executive management of SoftAlliance, in collaboration with the Oracle Corporation Team, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu in a bid to enhance data management across the country.

The visit was marked by a commitment to bolster Nigeria’s civil service reform process and enhance the country’s data management.

Tinubu commended Oracle’s track record, particularly its successful automation of the Lagos State Payroll System during his tenure as the Lagos State governor.

This pivotal project, executed in partnership with SoftAlliance and Resources Limited, he said, exemplified the transformative potential of technological solutions in improving accountability and expediting service delivery timelines, all while maintaining high-quality standards.

Reflecting on the journey of implementing Oracle ERP in 2001 as the governor of Lagos State, which was concluded in 2002 despite initial resistance, President Tinubu emphasised its ripple effect across Nigeria. He stressed the vital role of accurate data and cutting-edge data management capabilities in building strong institutions and delivering exceptional services to the Nigerian populace.

The president affirmed his belief that the only way to build the country is through a bottom-up approach. From one single sheet of paper, we can create an end-to-end solution for public administration, thereby, eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring reliability,he said.

Furthermore, the president urged SoftAlliance and Oracle to develop robust technological controls to secure and balance all government transaction processes effectively, even as he expressed his confidence in their ability to deliver on this critical task.

Addressing concerns about Nigeria’s bloated civil service payroll at the national and sub-national levels, the executive management of SoftAlliance unveiled a comprehensive roadmap. This roadmap focuses on verifying current employees registered on the payroll platform, signaling a proactive step toward rectifying this issue.
