The situation later led to the stabbing of the electrician popularly called ‘Yellow’ by the overwhelmed soldier.

The unfortunate development led to a violent protest by the deceased’s colleagues, who set the soldier’s car ablaze, after the soldier had fled the scene.

A trader in the area, who did not want his name mentioned, said the situation triggered apprehension, making shop owners to close their shops and run for their dear lives.

“The soldier came with a car for the electrician to fix a problem, after few hours, they started argument and the soldier brought out knife to defend himself and stabbed the man to death, and ran away.

“His car was also burnt by colleagues of the deceased. But the situation is calm now because few policemen came into the market,” he said.

Another eyewitness, a spare parts dealer, who also refused to disclose his name, also said: “The soldier came with the car first to me but I told him that I was busy, he should give it to another person. They started with heated argument, resulting in the killing of the electrician and subsequent burning of the soldier’s vehicle.”

Meanwhile, at the time of filing the report, there was no reaction yet from either the military authorities or FCT Police Command on the incident.
