Solidarity March For Peter Obi Causes Traffic Gridlock In Awka

Heavy traffic gridlock was experienced yesterday in Awka, the Anambra State capital as thousands of youths staged a solidarity march in support of the aspiration of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections.

The youths including males and females wearing T-Shirts and caps bearing photographs of Peter Obi and LP banners also with Peter Obi and his running-mate, Dr. Yusuf Ahmed-Datti started their march from the popular Alex Ekwueme Square and moved round the major streets, including Ifite road to Zik’s Avenue to Amawbia, singing songs in support of Obi’s presidential aspiration.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the pro-Obi youths came from different parts of the state.

Many residents including shop operators and other business owners like barbers, welders, vulkanisers abandoned their businesses to join the solidarity march.

They sang songs drumming support for Peter Obi’s presidential ambition in the 2023 election.

Coordinator of the Coalition for Peter Obi Support Group, Comrade Chidi Nzekwe, said the march  was to sensitise the citizens and other residents of the state to support Peter Obi’s aspiration.

He expressed happiness that the march was peaceful in Anambra State and urged  those who have not  collected their voter’s cards to make sure they collect them and to cast their votes wisely in the 2023 election.
