Aghamba and his wife were said on their way to Abuja to attend the wedding of Governor Soludo’s daughter, Adaora, when they were ambushed and kidnapped in Kogi. They were said to be travelling in their private vehicle.

When contacted by LEADERSHIP Weekend on phone, the police public relations officer (PPRO) of Kogi State police command, Mr William Aya simply responded, “Please, I am on transit. I am driving, so I can’t speak.”

The press secretary to Anambra State governor, Mr Christian Aburime who was already in Abuja for the wedding told LEADERSHIP Weekend on phone that the sad news of the kidnap of the commissioner and his wife had reached them.
