Spokesman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Olufemi Soneye, has resigned as the company’s chief corporate communications officer.
Soneye said he has stepped aside as chief corporate communications officer of the company to allow him to devote more time to his family and attend to personal responsibilities that now require closer presence.
He said it was a profound honour to serve both the company and the country, and to contribute, in his own way, to the ongoing transformation of NNPC Ltd.
The company, in 2023, announced the appointment of Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as its Chief Corporate Communications officer. Soneye, a seasoned journalist with full-time and freelance experiences at some of the world’s most respected publications in Nigeria, Australia, and the United States of America, led the Corporate Communications team and drove the brand penetration, strategic communications initiatives, and stakeholder management.
He is a member of reputable bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Association of Black Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists, and the Guild of Corporate Online Media Publishers.
Soneye is the former President of the Nigerian Media Practitioners, Washington, D.C.
