Global film and music giant, in collaboration with Nigeria-based Quramo Publishing company will host an open access workshop on Visual Storytelling for emerging Nigerian filmmakers.
The workshop scheduled for February 17, 2024, at the Quramo Creative Hub, at the Victoria Island, Lagos, is aimed at enhancing storytelling in the Nigerian film industry.

It will be facilitated by Ema Edosio Deelen, an internationally-acclaimed director, known for her documentary ‘Otiti’ which was celebrated at festivals in Brazil, New York, Spain and beyond.
Deploying ‘Otiti’ as a case study, at the workshop, Deelen will demystify the art of crafting compelling stories that rely on potent visuals as opposed to heavy dialogues.

Addressing the purpose of the workshop, Quramo stated, “Participants in this interactive workshop will have the opportunity to explore the process of creating narratives that deeply resonates with audiences, utilizing imagery to evoke emotions and establish universal connections.

Aspiring filmmakers will gain insights from Deelen’s expertise that empowers them to enhance their storytelling skills and leave lasting impression through the compelling medium of visual narrative. Prospective filmmakers are encouraged to join Sony and Quramo for an enriching experience aimed at elevating storytelling within the Nigerian film industry.”
