The House of Representatives deputy speaker, Ben Kalu, has stressed that as President Bola Tinubu approaches the midterm of his tenure, the South East must align decisively with the centre ahead of 2027.
Kalu stated this yesterday while unveiling the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) office in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, noting that Tinubu had done much for the zone to attract its support in the election.
He said, “The RHP is a formidable vehicle demonstrating our seriousness for this cause by translating the administration’s national achievements into regional gains and by delivering the majority of votes in the zone for the president in 2027.”
He presented an “exhaustive, thematic, and data-driven insight showcasing how the administration has delivered on its eight‐point Renewed Hope Agenda and how the zone can harness these gains for our people.”
According to the member representing Bende federal constituency, he is convinced that the zone stands to gain much from the agenda and would be emboldened to ask for more if it aligned with the centre.
My dear Ndi Igbo, the time for token support has passed. The president’s leadership has fundamentally improved our economy, empowered our youth, and begun to bridge the development gap in our zone.“
He argued that the RHP must channel these achievements into electoral victories, ensuring the zone sits at the heart of the country‘s renewed hope, „as we expect more from the current administration“.
By embedding these structures, strategies, and ambassadors into every household conversation, the RHP will transform policy wins into popular mandate, guaranteeing that the zone not only benefits from but also drives the continuity of this administration.“
Earlier, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Kingsley Ononogbu, described the president as a strong-willed leader who had demonstrated commitment to changing the country‘s narrative.
Ononogbu, who commended the deputy speaker for performing beyond expectations and „making the youths proud,“ noted that the state should best align with the centre.
