Youths under the auspices of the Southern Kaduna Youths and Students Forum (SKYSFOM) have congratulated Mr Rijo Shekari (FCCA) an aide to the deputy senate president on his appointment into the technical committee for the review of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) by the minister of youth development.
In a statement signed by the president of the forum, Comrade Ernest Maidawa, and made available to newsmen, the group expressed confidence in the capacity of Mr Shekari to contribute immensely to the review initiative, which, when unveiled, would turn around the economic fortunes of the youths in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Rijo Shekari has over 17 years of experience, spanning commercial and investment banking, risk management and compliance, and financial advisory. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Commonwealth Scholar and thus, a perfect fit for the job, ” the statement said.
The group also assured the federal government of the region’s continuous support to the government’s efforts towards a more secure, peaceful, and prosperous nation that the Tinubu administration promised Nigerians and is committed to achieving.
The NYIF which was designed to improve access to finance for youths and youth-owned enterprises and expected to financially empower the Nigerian youths to generate at least 500,000 jobs in the country between 2020 to 2023, failed to deliver on its mandate and is therefore undergoing a review by the current government.
Rijo is currently a senior legislative aide to the deputy Senate president and hails from Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State.
