Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Dr Abubakar Suleiman has implored Bauchi people to maintain the spirit of mutual understanding, cordial relationship and unending support to the present administration for the betterment of all in the state.
Abubakar made the call yesterday in a celebratory message as the governor Mohammed marked 66 years, saying that the governor as a leader needs prayers, advice and commendations to encourage him to continue to make lives better through impactful projects.
According to him, the investment of Bala Mohammed in the health sector was impressive in which he constructed and renovated over 204 primary health centres and general hospitals as well as equipping health institutions with necessary facilities that aid teaching and learning.
Abubakar added that in making school enrollments high, Governor Mohammed covered the payment of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and UTME for many candidates who passed mock exams while accruing over 13 billion to the whole educational sector.
He said: “Bala Mohammed has never taken security in the state for granted, he takes tangible measures to prevent escalation of situations whenever there is a security breach in towns or villages.
“In an effort to complement forces and ensure maximum security, he equipped security agents in the State with over 50 patrol vehicles and ensured prompt payment of their monthly remunerations. He hesitated or delay not in approving the promotion of those that deserved it, while bestowing monetary gifts to excellent officers purposely to encourage other colleagues.”
A statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Garba yesterday, said since the inception of the Governor Bala administration, Bauchi was being transformed in terms of road construction, expansion and renovation.
“There is absolutely no local government area out of the 20 in Bauchi that has not benefited tarred linkable roads, they were majorly constructed along with drainages for smooth flow of water. Interestingly, street lights were installed especially to roads in highly populated rural areas or cities, this is to ensure overall safety, boost businesses and aid transportation even at nights,” he said.
The speaker also said farmers in the state were not left out as the governor boosted their morale, procured over 4,000 metric tons of fertilizer to farmers, sold chemicals, devices and host of others all at subsidized rates.
