According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Sporting have accepted Arsenal’s latest bid of €63.5 million plus an additional €10 million, revealing that a verbal agreement has been reached for the Spaniard to sign a five-year deal with the Gunners.

The two clubs had already agreed on the €63.5 million fee plus €10 million in add-ons, but there has been a lengthy delay in finalising the specifics of those additional payments.

The Gunners have completed four deals in the summer transfer window thus far, but manager Mikel Arteta has stated that the plan is to continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.
