With precisely 20 days to go until the highly anticipated 2026 Sportsville Awards, the bespoke plaques for the deserving recipients have arrived. Furthermore, former Green Eagles captain, Dr Segun Odegbami MON, has confirmed his attendance at the prestigious event.
The dazzling gold plaques, professionally inscribed with the Sportsville emblem, underscore the unique nature of the awards ceremony. An enthusiastic Frank Ilaboya, Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville, stated that the arrival of the plaques signals the readiness for this year’s ceremony.
“It brings me immense joy that, with 20 days to spare, the plaques are ready and look brilliantly colourful,” Mr Ilaboya remarked. “As is customary, these plaques are custom-made exclusively for the Sportsville Awards Ceremony and cannot be found elsewhere. We believe the finest way to honour and celebrate our distinguished awardees is to present them with something they can proudly display.”
In related news, Dr Olusegun Odegbami, MON, proprietor of the popular Eagle 7 103FM, has confirmed he will be present at the 28th March ceremony. “I have just received my invitation and can assure you I will be there,” he stated. “This is a commendable programme that warrants the support of all sports enthusiasts. This will be my third appearance at the event, and I dare say it improves year on year.”
Ambassador Fanny Amun, renowned as a talent transformer following his historic U-17 World Cup success in Japan in 1993, has also confirmed his participation.
“It is always a great honour to be part of your iconic programme that has made me very proud,” said Ambassador Amun, a recipient at the previous edition.
As the 28th March date approaches, organisers have intensified preparations to ensure the event, to be chaired by Dr Larry Izamoje, is a truly memorable occasion.
