Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Abeokuta yesterday, the stakeholders pleaded with the new ACG to also impose discipline among the officials, adding that his appointment should help tackle jailbreaks.

Between 2021 and 2024, the country had not less than 10 jailbreaks,

The jailbreaks spread across different parts of the country, from Abuja to Delta, Kwara, Imo, Niger, Jos, Kogi, Oyo and Edo.

An ex commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Paul Ayenii, advised the new correctional boss to remain sensitive and vigilant.

He urged Nwakuche to remain aware of internal and external influences that could impact the service negatively.

“Sensitivity will enhance ability to identity threats rather than reactive measures,” he said.

He further urged the new boss to observe the behavioral partner of officials to prevent infiltration of criminals.

The Founder, Useful Youth Vision Concepts (UYVC), Mrs Adetokunbo Shonibare-Ayantunji, called for collaborative responsibilities to combat insecurity.

Shonibare-Ayantunji said effective collaboration with private and government security institutions would improve NCoS security.

Human Rights Advocate, Mr Sunday Olowoyobiojo, advised the NCoS boss to ensure improvement in logistics and artificial intelligence.

“The NCoS must work with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to acquire adeguate intelligence for correctional offices

”Availability of artificial intelligence like drones, CCTV cameras, digitslised shockers, armour tanks among others should never be compromised ,” he said.
