Days after President Bola Tinubu rescinded her appointment as first female Executive Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), media executive and global affairs enthusiast, Stella Din-Jacob, has announced a fresh career move.
In a post on her LinkedIn page, Din-Jacob disclosed that she has taken on the role of Executive Director at Mustel Creative Works Ltd.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Executive Director at Mustel Creative Works Ltd!” she wrote.
Din-Jacob’s initial appointment, which was alongside others as top management of the NTA by President Tinubu late August, was rescinded a few days ago. The President instead reinstated Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos as Director General of the public broadcaster and Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News on Tuesday.
However, her announcement came amid mixed reactions to the federal government’s decision to withdraw her high-profile appointment at the NTA, a move that drew attention across Nigeria’s media and political landscape.
Din-Jacob, a respected broadcast journalist and former Director of News at TVC Communications, is widely known for her work in media leadership and policy communications.
The federal government was yet to offer a detailed explanation for the decision to rescind her NTA appointment. However, industry watchers noted that leadership reshuffles in government-owned media institutions often reflect broader political considerations.
