Billionaire prophet and General Overseer of Christ Mercy Land Church in Warri, Delta State, Jeremiah Fufeyin, has warned people to stop linking the death of the late nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, to the marine kingdom.

Fufefin, while reacting to some acclaimed worshippers of marine kingdom who noted that the nollywoood actor was a victim of lack of sacrifice to spiritual elements of the river, said there is no power above the power of Jesus Christ.

Amidst the prayers and condolences pouring in for the deceased actor and his colleagues, a controversial comment about their death had caught the attention of the renowned cleric linking the sad incident to marine kingdom.

A self-proclaimed agent of the marine kingdom declared that the unfortunate boat accident was a result of a sacrifice demanded by the water spirits.

The agent further claimed that Junior Pope and his colleagues must be buried beside the Anam River, where the incident occurred.

But, Prophet Fufeyin, known for his bold and unapologetic defense of Christianity, wasted no time in responding as he declared in a video message that “water power is less than Jesus Christ power.”

This comes as Nigerians are already divided over the burial of the actor by the riverside to appeal marine spirit.

An X user, @Ada__Okoro said: “Junior Pope should not be buried by the river, marine spirits should do their worst, Africans and religious Superstitions are 5&6. Haba, who do us, “who does that?” according to Junior Pope”

Another social media user with the handle @JumokeOlawuyi_ says said: “Saying Jesus Christ will bow to marine powers is an extremely careless statement, God bless Prophet Jeremiah for speaking against that anti Christ narrative.”
