The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board has recognised outstanding teaching and non-teaching staff by rewarding them with motorcycles.
The awardees are Malama Ummi Mohammad Umar, the head teacher of Zango Primary School, Bauchi, and Bala Audu, a dispatch rider.
During the ceremony held at the board’s conference room in Bauchi at the weekend, the state chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Adamu Mohammad Duguri, emphasised the importance of recognising those who have served the state diligently and conscientiously. He expressed the state government’s unwavering commitment to staff motivation, welfare and well-being, as well as the board’s readiness to develop basic education.
Alhaji Duguri reiterated his call for all stakeholders in SUBEB to discharge their official duties with the fear of God and assured that hardworking staff would continue to be rewarded, while erring staff would be punished to achieve the set objectives.
The chairman congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue to exhibit a high sense of responsibility, commitment and unalloyed loyalty in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, the SUBEB Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Sale Yakubu Ningi, explained that the two awardees were selected based on merit after a thorough screening process. He encouraged them to continue doing their best for SUBEB.
