The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, on Sunday paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
The revered traditional ruler, who is also the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), was received by the President at the Presidential Villa during the visit.
Details of the meeting were not immediately made public as of press time.
The visit comes amid a series of engagements between President Tinubu and prominent national leaders and elder statesmen at the Presidential Villa.
Within the last 10 days, the President has also met with elder statesman, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (retd.), as well as former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), during separate visits at the State House, Abuja.
Gowon, who spoke to journalists after his meeting with the President on Saturday, commended Tinubu’s efforts in steering the affairs of the country, saying the administration was doing its best to tackle Nigeria’s challenges across key sectors.
